Anti Discrimination Policy

Last Updated: April 2023

At Lowcountry Coffee Compnay, we believe in creating a welcoming environment for all our customers, regardless of their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, or any other characteristic protected by law. Discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated, and we are committed to creating a safe and inclusive space for all.

We have implemented the following policies to ensure that our coffee shop is a discrimination-free zone:

  1. Hiring: We hire employees based on their qualifications, experience, and ability to perform their job responsibilities, and we do not discriminate against any candidate based on their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, or any other characteristic protected by law.

  2. Service: We provide the same level of service to all our customers, regardless of their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, or any other characteristic protected by law.

  3. Behavior: We expect all our employees and customers to treat each other with respect and dignity, and to refrain from any discriminatory or offensive behavior, including but not limited to verbal or physical harassment, slurs, or derogatory comments.

  4. Accessibility: We are committed to ensuring that our shop is accessible to all customers, including those with disabilities, and we will make reasonable accommodations to assist customers with disabilities, such as providing accessible seating or making menu items available in alternative formats upon request.

  5. Training: We provide regular training to our employees on how to recognize and prevent discrimination, harassment, and unconscious bias, and how to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all.

We take any reports of discrimination seriously and will investigate all claims promptly and fairly. Any employee found to have engaged in discrimination will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination. Any customer who engages in discriminatory behavior will be asked to leave the premises.

We are committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment for all our customers and employees, and we welcome feedback on how we can continue to improve our policies and practices.
