General Guidelines

  • All employees are responsible for following safety procedures and reporting any hazards or concerns to their supervisor immediately.

  • All equipment and machinery should be properly maintained, and any malfunctioning equipment should be taken out of service until repaired.

  • Employees should wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), such as non-slip shoes, gloves, aprons, and safety glasses, as required.

  • Proper lifting techniques should be used when handling heavy items, and employees should seek assistance when necessary.

  • Food safety guidelines and protocols should be followed at all times.

Slips, Trips, and Falls Prevention

  • Spills should be cleaned up promptly to prevent slips and falls.

  • Wet floor signs should be used to alert customers and employees of any wet or slippery floors.

  • Mats should be placed at entrances and exits to prevent water and dirt from being tracked in, which can cause slips.

  • Employees should wear slip-resistant shoes to reduce the risk of slipping.

Fire Safety

  • All employees should know the location of fire extinguishers and how to use them.

  • Exit routes and emergency evacuation procedures should be clearly marked and communicated to all employees.

  • Smoking is prohibited in and around the coffee shop.

  • Electrical equipment should be turned off when not in use and not left unattended.

Hazardous Materials

  • All hazardous materials, such as cleaning chemicals, should be properly labeled, stored, and handled according to safety guidelines.

  • Employees should wear appropriate PPE when working with hazardous materials.

  • Proper ventilation should be provided when using chemicals.

Violence Prevention

  • No form of violence or threat of violence will be tolerated in the workplace.

  • Employees should report any incidents of violence or threats of violence to their supervisor immediately.

  • Proper security measures should be in place, such as surveillance cameras and panic buttons.
